2005-2007 INOTEC - Empresa: Plano Tecnológico e de Inovação Empresarial da Região Autónoma dos Açores. This Project concerned a Technological Plan for Industrial Innovation for the development of the Azores Autonomous Region, in the timeframe 2007-2013. It considered the development of human capital by promotion of the qualification and requalification of the workforce in the region; in parallel, it outlined the strengthening and implementation of the necessary infrastructures – institutional, societal, economic – to promote innovation in the Region.
2004-2006 PRILHE - Promoting Reflective Independent Learning in Higher Education - funded by the EU Socrates Adult Education programme [Socrates Grundtvig 113869-CP-1-2004-1-UK-GRUNDTVIG-G1]. It was a European project involving eight countries: Finland, Germany, Ireland, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden and the UK. The key aims of the project were: to identify the learning processes which enable adult students in higher education to become independent reflective learners and to identify how this process can be better supported. The overall aim were to improve policy and teaching practices in this field, at European level.
2002-2004 LIHE - Learning in Higher Education [Socrates Grundtvig 100703-CP-1-2002-1-UK-GRUNDTVIG-GI]. LIHE was a European cooperation project with seven institutions in different countries (Finland, Germany, Ireland, Portugal, Spain, United Kingdom and Sweden) taking part. The participants were: Georg-August Universitat Goettingen, Department of Education, Germany; University of Stockholm, Department of Education, Sweden; University of Turku, Centre of Extension Studies, Finland; Dundalk Institute of Technology, Regional Development Centre, Dundalk, Ireland; University of Barcelona, CREA – Center for Research in Adult Education, Spain; University of Warwick, United Kingdom; ISEGI, Universidade Nova de Lisboa, Portugal; a handbook was preapared, Enriching Higher Education: Learning and Teaching with Non – Traditional Adult Students and a book was published, Novos Públicos no Ensino Superior: os desafios da sociedade do conhecimento (in Portuguese).
2000-2001 Archiving Portuguese Scientific Grey Literature – management and digital preservation; study project for Biblioteca Nacional (National Library of Portugal), Lisboa.
2000 Development of Life Long Learning strategy for UNL – Universidade Nova de Lisboa; study report submitted to UNL Senate (SPS – Secção Permanente do Senado).
